Teddy's cynical satire. Schumer vs Bibi. Or; Don't blame me. I didn't vote for him. At least the first name.
Chuck Schumer, Democrat Senator from New York, called for Bibi to step down as Prime Minister. Schumer made this speech on the Senate floor. Schumer called for new Israeli elections to replace Bibi.
From a leftist/American point of view, Schumer is acceptable, but not valid. However, Schumer is totally outrageous to depose the leader of a sovereign nation who was democratically elected.
However, my opinion from a Zionist point of view should be considered.
Schumer should move to Israel under the Law of Return, and declare himself an Israeli citizen. It's perfectly legal. Now he can run for a seat in the Knesset.
But Schumer will have to put his name on the list of one of the political parties. This is where it gets dicey.
(a) To run for the Knesset, Schumer will have to renounce his American citizenship. No more seat in th US Senate. And surrender his US Passport.
(b)
# The most obvious party for him to join is the Labor party. If they will have him.
# Two other parties which may fit his outlook are Mapam and Meretz. But they currently do not have a seat in the Knesset.
# Two other parties for him may be the United Arab List, or Hadash Ta'al. If they will have him.
# His last option is to form his own party for American Olim who made Aliyah.
# Will any of the above put his name as Number One on their List?
